Introduction

N05500 corrosion resistance
The corrosion resistance of n05500 alloy is essentially equivalent to alloy 400. In addition to age hardening, n05500 nickel alloy has a greater tendency of stress corrosion cracking in some environments. N05500 was found to be an acid gas resistant environment. The combination of very low corrosion rate in high-speed coke baking water and n05500 high-strength alloy is especially suitable for the service of shaft marine centrifugal pump. In stagnant or slow seawater, pollution may occur, followed by pitting, but this allows a fairly rapid initial attack after slowing down.
N05500 manufacturing
The welding alloy n05500 is preferably welded by tungsten electrode inert gas welding process. It is recommended that Monel n05500 is annealed when welding before any weldment is pressure relieved.
The best completion conditions or hot working and quenching conditions for alloy materials processed by heavy machinery during annealing. However, age hardening materials can be finished to close tolerances for good completion. Therefore, it is recommended that the machine be slightly larger, age hardened, and then machined to size. During aging, slight permanent shrinkage occurs, but small bending is due to low temperature and slow cooling rate
