GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF INCONEL X750 ALLOY
Alloy 750 is a precipitation-hardening alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation. It has good stress-rupture
strength and low creep rates under high stress at temperatures up to 1500ºF (815ºC) after appropriate heat treatments.
APPLICATIONS
The alloy finds applications as high-temperature structural members for gas turbines, jet engine parts, nuclear power plants, heat-treat fixtures, forming tools and extrusion dies.
MACHINABILITY
The alloy is austenitic and work hardens rapidly. As such positive feeds are required, together with sharp, rigid tooling and equipment. Inconel 718 is best machined in the stress-equalized condition.
WELDABILITY
The alloy should preferably be welded in the stress-equalized condition and solution annealed and age hardened following welding.
